When it comes to pictures of my family, no amount of money can recreate them if I lose them. When it comes to music, movies, and TV shows – I can rebuy anything I lose due to hard drive failure. I am equally as fanatical about getting them backed up. I keep them extremely organized and culled. Backblaze will now appear in the applications listed in the Full Disk Access menu, make sure the toggle is selected to allow Full Disk Access for both "Backblaze" and "bzbmenu".If there is one thing I am obsessed with when it comes to technology, it’s my pictures. Navigate to the "Applications" folder, select "Backblaze", and then select the button labeled "Open"Ĥ. You will see a list of applications, if Backblaze does not appear in this section select the "plus" icon.ģ. Open "System Preferences" and select "Full Disk Access"Ģ. Once selected, you will be able to continue backing up external hard drives! Make sure you connect all selected external drives to your computer to allow bzbmenu to verify access on each individual drive, or you may continue to see the dialog after granting permission.Īs in the above two cases, Ventura still requires Full Disk Access, and you will want to be sure that you have updated to the most recent version of the client found at ġ. If you accidentally click no, you can go into your Security & Privacy settings, navigate to "Files and Folders", and make sure that the "Removable Volumes" checkbox is selected for bzbmenu. If you see this dialog, simply click "Yes" or "Allow" and no further steps will be required. Typically macOS will display a dialog asking if you would like to give bzbmenu permission to read your external or secondary hard drives. If you have external or secondary hard drives connected to your Mac that you would like to backup with Backblaze, and are running macOS 10.15 Catalina or newer, you will need to grant "bzbmenu" access to your removable volumes. Note #2, if you're using macOS 10.15 Catalina or newer, make sure to install the latest version of the client found on. Note #1, the above settings for Full Disk Access is still required. After reboot, once Backblaze does a hard drive scan it should back up everything that the Mojave upgrade excluded and your backup should remain safe! Drag the Backblaze app into the Full Disk Access location and release the Backblaze icon into it as show in the images below.ħ. If you missed it, you can set it later on by following these steps:ġ. The initial installation process should walk you through making sure Full Disk Access is set correctly. If you are running macOS 10.14 Mojave, make sure you're using the latest version of the client found on. Here are a couple of workarounds for this. In macOS 10.14 and newer, Apple has made significant changes to their Security and Privacy which can prevent our program from performing its job successfully.
