TV REVIEWS: FTN Reviews Krypton Season 2 Episode 5: A Better Yesterday. Also, if he does, this would be an advantage for Brainiac as he can gain more control of Seg's body for his own nefarious schemes. Whether Lyta will be back from the dead, we don't know, but what we do know is that this would probably be the point where Seg may snap. One of the instances being Brainiac (Blake Ritson), who was presumed dead but is, in fact, still residing inside Seg's body. But then 'Krypton' has managed to bring the dead back to life before. With this, the episode ends and while it comes as pretty shocking, it does look like Lyta dies. This execution is even witnessed by Seg, Zod and Lyta's mother, Jayna Zod (Ann Ogbomo) and her former betrothed Dev-Em (Aaron Pierre). Zod's plan is revealed and in the most horrific of surprises, she slits Lyta's throat live on screen. Seg confronts Zod, and Brainiac has some advice for Supermans grandfather. When Jax Ur learns of this, she broadcasts a message on the main communication channel of Kandor for the world to see. Krypton Season 2 Episode 5 A Better Yesterday Series Lyta goes to Wegthor to negotiate an end to hostilities, but Jax ignores Val and takes her prisoner. He fakes the retreat of his forces from Wegthor, while Kem (Rasmus Hardiker) and Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos) discover a mass of heat signatures that are actually Zod's forces. While Zod doesn't want Lyta to die, his unwillingness to lose sees him concoct another plan that is revealed at the end of the episode. Meanwhile, in Kandor, Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) faces off against Zod to get answers about the fate of Lyta.Īt that point, things go south with Zod getting the upper hand at Kandor, but on Wegthor, Jax Ur takes Lyta prisoner and toys with the idea that Zod wouldn't want his mother to die. Lyta Zod (Georgina Campbell) sends the survivors back to Val El (Ian McElhinney) to talk to the people to consider surrender as an option. EPISODE 6 In Zod We Trust In the wake of tragedy, Seg helps Nyssa rescue their son, while alliances on Wegthor fracture. All the rebel forces on the ground are vanquished. EPISODE 5 A Better Yesterday Amidst a hostage negotiation that could end the war on Krypton, Seg seeks answers about Lyta (series star GEORGINA CAMPBELL). In our review of episode four, we said that 'Krypton' had a slow run in the new season, but the show makes up for it by taking its viewers through the fifth episode at breakneck speed.Įpisode five picks up with Dru Zod (Colin Salmon) and the rebels getting into battle mode and for the moment, it is Zod who has the upper hand.
